First, when I use this effect, I usually make huge numerical guesses just to see which way the values need to go. I mouse over the x,y and the tool tip shows bla, bla, handle. I click on the handles and the object then stretches or rotates like normal. ?!?
Anyway, I have successfully used the pattern fill on an large rectangle and then, converted it to bitmap, autotraced to get is as a large rectangular path, and deformed it with the perspective path effect. Tonight, once it was close enough, I clicked off the path effect window and decided to move the newly deformed object (path) only for it to jump back. I would stretch it and it would spring back. So annoying that I closed my drawing and came here to see if anyone else had unlocked objects moving back.
