I have imported new fonts into the font library on my Intel Mac running Sonoma 14.5 but they appear with a red strike through and cannot be used.
I have seen posts on this same issue from many years ago and people say the issue is because "these fonts are used in the file but are not present in the system in which the file is being edited." This is not true in my case
so why won't the fonts work? I have tried these fonts in other text editing applications, and they work perfectly fine. Only Inkscape displays this problem.
I know this is an old question, but I have the same issue. I have installed the font, and I have closed and reopened Inkscape, but it is still marked through in red and unavailable to use. Any suggestions?

Have you restarted Inkscape after the font installation?
PS.: So you got Inkscape running at least?
